With the end of the college baseball regular season in sight, the Clemson Tigers (37-10, 17-7 ACC) travel to Winston-Salem, NC, for a three-game weekend series against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (33-16, 12-12 ACC).
The Demon Deacons, coming off a massive 24-7 win against North Carolina A&T on May 7, are looking to stay hot against the Tigers. With a .286 batting percentage and an average of 8.6 runs per game, Wake Forest poses a legitimate threat to any challengers they face. Additionally, their 22-7 home record displays their power and prowess of playing at home.
With a 10-4 away record, the Tigers look to defeat yet another ACC rival to boost their overall rankings within the last weeks of the regular season. With 8.3 runs per game and a .298 batting percentage, the Tigers have been dominant all season long. Their pitching staff has maintained good numbers, with a 4.24 ERA and a .236 opponent batting average.
Clemson will look to start pitchers Ethan Darden on Friday, Tristan Smith on Saturday, and freshman Aidan Knaak on Sunday. At the same time, the Demon Deacons have Chase Burns, David Falco, and Josh Hartle lined up, respectively.
The Tigers own the rivalry between the Demon Deacons, with a 55-33 away record and a 142-63-1 overall record. Clemson will travel to Wake Forest to raise their record to a higher degree in their second to last weekend series of the year.
